Dutch pumpkin seeds

Grower Edwin Smits has succeeded in growing top quality pumpkin seeds in the Netherlands. Beautiful orange-green in color and packed with essential fatty acids.

This is because the type of pumpkins that Edwin grows are so-called oil pumpkins, whose seeds have a high oil content. The pumpkins are therefore grown exclusively for the seeds.

This Dutch organic pumpkin cultivation is good for biodiversity. It is crop rotation where the pumpkins can be grown once every four years on the same piece of land. For every hectare of pumpkins, five bee colonies are needed for pollination. These hard workers help with fertilization. The flesh of the pumpkins remains on the land after harvesting. The pulp contains many nutrients that benefit the soil life. The pumpkin seeds are cleaned and sorted.

You can clearly recognize our Dutch pumpkin seeds by their size and color: they are large compared to Chinese pumpkin seeds and a beautiful dark green in color. They are a delicious snack but are also ideal for use in salads, bread or other dishes.
