The word 'basmati' originates from Hindi and means 'fragrant'. White basmati rice has an even stronger aroma than brown basmati rice. Rice is an excellent basis for all kinds of dishes, and there are countless varieties. Basmati rice is a dry-cooked rice, and therefore delicious with curries.
